The City of Owatonna Administrator, under direction of the City Council, exercises control and supervision over all administrative affairs of the City Government. The administrator shall recommend to the Council and Mayor such measures and policies considered necessary or expedient for the best operation of the City Government. The City Administrator provides direction and supervision for department heads and is responsible for all day-to-day operations.
The City Administration Building was closed mid-March and reopened to the public on June 17, 2020; however, the State Orphanage Museum located in the City Administration Building remains closed until further notice. City offices will be staffed and some staff will be working remotely, staff will be available during normal business hours, 8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday and available via phone and email.
