Welcome to Owatonna Parks and Recreation Fall 2017

It’s hard to begin thinking about fall when Owatonna is having the best weather of the year.  But I Love Fall! Right now Owatonna truly exemplifies the tagline “The City of Friendliness and Beautiful Parks”.  These perfect temperatures get neighbors, friends, family, and community members outside to exercise, play, and interact with each other.  Have you visited your parks lately? The maintenance crew has put in a lot of work and have them in beautiful shape.  It won’t be long and the Fall colors will start to appear.  I certainly hope you take the time to get out and enjoy your parks and the beautiful scenery they all have to offer.

This brochure has us looking ahead to some very popular returning programs, some new & improved, and some brand new programs!  Speaking about popular…the Trick or Treat Trail is back at Manthey Park on Saturday, October 28 from 2-4p.m.  Check out the details inside.  Staff is working to come up with “new” exciting, family friendly activities!  If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let us know.  Status quo is not what you should expect from staff members and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Boards.

Another great Fall activity would be to take in some golf at Brooktree Golf Course, as we have many specials in the Fall.  Golfer or not, be sure to check out the Patio at Brooktree.  You can enjoy the fire pit while you enjoy the great food and beverages from Master’s Bar and Grill!  Music on the Patio returns August 4th with Boyd Lee and Mary Jane Alm, and August 19th with Muriah Miller & Becky Borneke returning to the patio.  Mark your calendars for August 25th when we will have Tin Cup playing on a giant inflatable screen.

We hope that you are finding it easy to register for our programs by using our online registration with Max Solutions.  This has been a huge success with over 70% now registering on-line.  Max also has allowed us to keep in touch better with our customers through e-mails and focus on customers with certain interests.
