The area now known as Jaycee Park was obtained from the State of Minnesota on April 23, 1963 for the amount of $825, as passed by the Minnesota legislature. The park, which is nine acres in size, was formerly highway land. The park is located between Main Street and Rice Lake Street. The Owatonna Jaycees, after whom the park was named on March 11, 1963, have made enormous contributions to the initial and continued development of the park. The following amenities represent the physical contributions of the Jaycee park:
  • Hard surfaced walkways
  • Most play apparatus
  • Park sign
  • Picnic shelter
  • Restroom facility
  • Sand volleyball court
In addition, the Jaycees have provided generous amounts of volunteer assistance to develop and help maintain the park.
