Dancing at the Elks

The 2nd Tuesday of the month, we’re dancing at the Elks from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Thanks to the Owatonna Elks Club! Check the current newsletter for more information.

Wii Games

Nintendo Wii - A video game that’s good for you. A distinguishing feature is the game’s wireless controller, the Wii Remote, a handheld device that detects movement and speed. The nature of the Wii means that you use your arms, legs, and torso when playing. We are sure that you will find something you like: the system also comes with tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and boxing. The Wii is a great activity for people to enjoy together. Adults with limited mobility can play, too; standing is not required, so these players can be comfortably seated while they play. Stop by and give it a shot, no experience required.


Outdoor Play at Morehouse as weather permits. Balls are provided along with paddles for those who are new to the game. All ability levels are welcome. We also provide instruction to anyone new to the game. Below are the times and days the Pickleball group has the courts reserved:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon
  • Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to dark

Table Tennis

The table tennis program will run at West Hills Social Commons on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. ($1 per time). Any age can play the game, so don’t be afraid. Players of all abilities are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing.


Come join us for an hour of shuffleboard every Thursday at West Hills Social Commons. Whether you are a veteran with many years of shuffleboard experience or just learning the rules, we think you will have a good time getting a little exercise with some local "good sports." Instruction provided by National Senior Games medalist Willie Peterson. Equipment is provided.

Yoga classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Yoga is a series of postures and stretches in combination with breathing to improve flexibility and relaxation. Proper alignment of the body will bring balance, strength, and tranquility to the participant.

  • 12 punch card: $60 Adult Leisure Pursuits member; $72 non-member
  • 6 punch card: $33 Adult Leisure Pursuits member; $39 non-member
  • Individual classes: $6 Adult Leisure Pursuits member; $7 non-member

Pilates with Susan Bernhart

Pilates are Mondays and Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Pilates is a proven gentle total body workout which strengthens deep back muscles, abdominals, upper and lower body as well as improving flexibility. Clean mats will be provided for use or bring your own.

  • 60 minute classes
  • Cost $2 for Member and $3 for Non-Member

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art and form of stylized, meditative exercise, characterized by methodically slow circular and stretching movements and positions of bodily balance.

  • Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
  • Cost: $1 per class

Chair Aerobics

Enjoy a real aerobic workout, without getting out of your chair! This fun program consists of warm-ups, exercises, cool-downs and stretches.

  • Monday and Thursday 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.
  • $10 per month
  • $1.25 per class
  • 1st visit is free

Weight Training for Seniors

An exercise therapist leads the group in a program of warm-up exercises, weight lifting exercises with hand-held weights, cool-down exercises and stretching.

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.
  • $25 per month
